COVID - 19 | Business Update

COVID-19 Protection Framework

From the 3rd December 2021, in order for The Duke of Marlborough Hotel & Restaurant to comply under the new COVID-19 Protection Framework, we will require My Vaccine Passes to be presented in order to enjoy The Duke. Unfortunately, you will be turned away if you are unable to present your My Vaccine Pass. You will also be required to bring some further photo identification as well.

Your Vaccine Pass may be scanned in by a member of our staff who may also check this against your ID. You will be additionally required to use the COVID-19 Contact Tracing app. This is a directive from the Government and Ministry of Health that allow us to operate within the COVID-19 Protection Framework.

We will also be requiring our staff to hold a vaccination certificate (as per government regulations 1st vaccine by the 3rd December 2021 and 2nd by the 17th January 2022). 

Please note – a negative COVID-19 test will not permit your entry. The requirement is for the My Vaccine Pass.

Accommodation Bookings

We are aware that there may be some guests who have made a personal decision not to be vaccinated, and as such you will need to cancel your booking within our normal cancellation policy.  There are a number of alternative accommodation options that don’t require My Vaccine Passes listed below – please make contact with them directly.

  • Seaport Village
  • Hananui Lodge
  • Russell Motel

 

Please do not turn up for an accommodation booking without your My Vaccine Pass as we will have to turn you away and over the summer period accommodation is very limited.  Please note every guest (over 12) will need to be present at check in so we are able to verify vaccination status.

 

And as a reminder some general advice on health under COVID-19

  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow or by covering your mouth and nose with tissues.
  • Put used tissues in the bin or a bag immediately.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water often (for at least 20 seconds).
  • Try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
  • Don’t touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
  • Avoid personal contact, such as kissing, sharing cups or food with sick people.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects, such as doorknobs.
  • Stay home if you feel unwell.
