We had been looking around venues in Northland because the area is so special to us both. We couldn’t find anywhere both in our budget and somewhere that felt like us. Once we come over to see the function room at The Duke, we were sold! The elegance of the whole place meant that it barely needed any decorating, which is great for someone against fairy lights! The location, the food, and the ease of having everything in one venue ticked all the boxes. From first meeting Beth, to the whole organisation process, everything was easy and stress-free. You guys have a seamless operation and made the day perfect!! (Actually more than perfect, and we don’t know how that’s possible).
Gosh we can’t pick just a few. The food, the service, the beautiful ballroom, our epic DJ, the dance floor, and we lucked out with beautiful weather too! But above all, having our favourite people all in one beautiful place just felt beyond special to us both.
Make it yours. Don’t worry too much for traditions or what you think you should be doing. Our bridal party was uneven in terms of guys and girls, I didn’t feel myself with a veil so didn’t wear one, we didn’t do the classic vows, and we wouldn’t change a thing! Look back on your day and think about how it really was what YOU both wanted.
