Competition

The tournament will be run as a Team Stableford format, with the best 3 out of 4 Stableford scores counting on each hole. Max handicap index of 24, Women Max handicap index of 35 will be applied.    Handicap Index, will be frozen the day before the event

Teams must consist of four players and can be of any gender mix. One non-affiliated player (non-golfer) is welcome per team. Ideally, all team members will have official handicaps. If a player does not have an official or previous handicap, they will be assigned the maximum handicap. A previously known handicap may be used if applicable.

8.00 - 8.30: Arrival & Registration

8.30 - 9.00am: Warmup

9.00am: Welcome

9.30am: Shot gun start

Does not include: Ferry transfers, beverages and transport.

We only suggest sharing a small room type with someone you love!  

Becoming a Sponsor

We would love to attract more sponsors to this event to make it even bigger and better.  From hole sponsorship to donating prizes there are plenty of opportunities.  

Hole sponsorship begins at $500 with all proceeds going to Rugby for Life charity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I hire a golf cart, clubs etc? 

Yes! The friendly team at the Waitangi pro shop can help organise these.  Please contact them on 09 402 8207 prior to the competition to book.

How will the winners be determined and will there be prizes?

We are currently raiding our prize cupboard so stay tuned, we promise there will be some good prizes.   Prizes for longest drive, closest to the pin and spot prizes on the night. Officials from the Waitangi Golf course will be awarding the prizes and completing the scoring etc

Charity 

This year we will be supporting Rugby for Life with a raffle and plenty of other opportunities to donate to this wonderful cause. A contribution of every team entry will be donated.  

Is there a dress code for the competition?

Smart casual with appropriate footwear – matching team t-shits is always a good look, and who knows there may be a prize for the best dressed team!

Will there be food and beverages available during the competition?

The Waitangi proshop has a selection of snacks and the golf club will be open to purchase food and drink.  A BBQ hosted by ITM will be there for pre game snacks!  

Will transport be provided to and from the golf course?

No – if you do require help with transport, please let us know and we can help organise this.

Can I just enter the competition only and not come to the dinner?

Yes – but it will cost you the same if you come to the dinner!  At this stage we won’t be having competition only rates.

How long does it take to get to Waitangi Golf Course from the Duke?

We suggest leaving yourself 45mins

What if it rains? -  

We will only cancel the day if Waitangi golf course deems the course closed.  We may be able to alter the start times to help avoid weather issues.  Unfortunately, in the event that Waitangi close the course there will be no refunds.  The dinner will go ahead.
